Basic Chainsaw Training - Please see below for future dates.

This is a two day Chainsaw training course run on site or at our venue, that covers the maintenance of a chainsaw and its use to cross cut timber on the ground. Bar length is limited to 15 inches.

This training course will provide a Lantra Awards Certificate of Basic Skills AND prepare candidates for the NPTC Assessment for unit CS30 if required. Please note that persons wishing to go on to fell small trees to 380mm MUST do the NPTC assessment for unit CS30. This course is aimed at those persons who are new to using a chainsaw and leaves all their options open for future training and assessment.

The chainsaw course covers the following:

Introduction
Safety and health features of a chainsaw
Chainsaw maintenance
Personal protective equipment
Fuelling and starting a chainsaw
Preparing site and chainsaw checks
Performing pre-cutting checks
Cross-cutting timber
Stack timber
Adjusting the chainsaw
Risk Assessment
